The Partnership Continues

The Partnership Continues

22 May 2025

Every year, a new batch of students enters 7th grade at Hillel Day School. Regardless of how much they know about Jarc and what their perceptions are of developmental disabilities, they all leave 7th grade changed for the better. Disabilities and their implications are incorporated into Hillel’s 7th grade curriculum, allowing students to understand disabilities from various perspectives.

A vital part of this experience for the students is Hillel’s partnership with Jarc. Throughout the year, students plan activities with individuals that Jarc serves, and form connections. The relationships built are eye-opening for students and fun for those we serve. At the end of the year, everyone celebrates with a well-loved hobby: bowling. Yesterday, 15 students and 28 individuals served by Jarc gathered at The Perfet Game in Farmington Hills to enjoy one last hurrah before the students move on to 8th grade and those we serve prepare for a new group of young friends next year.
