  • Since incorporation in 1969, JARC has had various names. For the last several decades, none of those names fully embodied all aspects of JARC’s work and our name was changed to JARC.

    JARC is our legal name.

  • JARC serves individuals with developmental disabilities of all ages in Oakland County. Group homes and independent living services are for adults only, and we provide respite care and support services for adults and children.

  • Whether you are looking for services through JARC or another care provider, the intake process starts with MORC Easterseals. Click here to get started.

  • Services involving basic needs are primarily covered by Community Mental Health, which is funded by Medicaid. Everything above and beyond basic needs comes from generous donors, foundations, and businesses. These philanthropic dollars provide birthday and holiday celebrations, transportation to events, religious services, outings, social events, activities, personal items, and everything else that makes life fun and fulfilling.

  • We accept furniture and appliances that are in very good condition when there is an immediate need. The quickest way to begin this process is to email photos to Jacob at jacobgottlieb@jarc.org. We will assess whether the item is needed and get back to you as soon as we can.
